The Ontario Automobile Dealer Association (OADA) is pleased to announce that it has formed a historic partnership with industry powerhouse, SAL Group, a division of Industrial Alliance Pacific Insurance and Financial Services Inc. (IAP), effective immediately.
Under this new partnership, OADA’s marketing division, the Ontario Automobile Dealer Services (OADS), will add a full line of SAL products and will be supported by proven management expertise. The move will enable OADS and SAL to strengthen their positions in the market, by offering a broader range of after-sale products to auto dealers and consumers in Ontario.
“We’re delighted with the opportunity to partner with SAL Group, a leader in after-sale products and services,” says Richard Goneau, General Manager at OADS. “This exciting partnership will allow OADS the flexibility to offer our customers a larger product mix, and it will allow us to utilize SAL Group’s marketing and training expertise. It’s a win-win for OADS and SAL Group.”
Ontario automobile dealers benefit when they purchase products and services from OADS because revenues flow back to dealers by means of OADA services, such as Government Relations. “In the end, dealers get the biggest bang for their buck from dealing with OADS,” says Ken Weeks, President of the OADA. “Not only are they purchasing top quality profitable products that add to their bottom line, but they are investing in the sustainability of their industry.”
SAL Group provides auto dealers and consumers across Canada with comprehensive group creditor insurance, extended warranty programs, anti-theft programs, chemical protection, and dealership training programs. SAL Group’s parent company, Industrial Alliance, is the 4th largest health and life insurance company in Canada.
“As one of the industry’s strongest insurance companies, we saw the fit in partnering with OADA, one of the strongest industry associations in Canada,” says Gerry Bouwers, President and Chief Operating Officer of IAP. “This builds on our relationship with other automobile associations in Atlantic and Central Canada

Not all insurance companies are the same when it
comes to repairing your car according to a survey conducted among 150
Massachusetts registered body shops. The survey, conducted by USA/Direct,
an independent marketing research firm, showed that Plymouth Rock Assurance was the highest rated
insurance company for ensuring speedy, high quality repairs with the
best customer service.
Plymouth Rock significantly
outranked all other Massachusetts auto insurers, including Travelers,
Liberty Mutual, Amica, Commerce, and Progressive.
The survey asked body shops to rate insurers on how well their practices
and policies supported repair efforts according to three criteria; quality
of repairs, speed of repairs and the overall customer experience. Plymouth
Rock was ranked first in every category:
-- For the quality of the repair, Plymouth Rock ranked 2 times higher
than Amica and Commerce Insurance and almost 3 times higher than
Progressive Insurance.
-- For speed of repairs, Plymouth Rock ranked over 2 times higher than
Commerce and Arbella Insurance and 3 times higher than Safety and
Progressive Insurance.
-- For providing high quality customer service throughout the repair
process, Plymouth Rock ranked 2 times higher than Travelers and Amica
insurance and 4 times higher than Progressive Insurance.
-- When asked to combine all three criteria (speed, quality and service)
Plymouth Rock ranked over 2 times higher than Arbella and Amica insurance,
3 times higher than Liberty Mutual Insurance and 10 times higher than
Progressive Insurance.
“Plymouth Rock prides itself on working with repair shops to make car
repairs quick and easy,” says Hal Belodoff, President of Plymouth Rock. “We
make sure repairs are top quality, done quickly, and that the overall
experience is as easy as possible for the customer. It’s all part of our
commitment to providing our customers with more than just insurance.”
“Fixing your car can be stressful and time consuming, but having an
insurance company that truly cares backing you can make all the
difference,” adds Mike Cesinger, Plymouth Rock’s Vice President of Claims.
“These results are consistent with our own claim satisfaction surveys which
show that our customer satisfaction exceeds 95%.”
The surveys were conducted by USA/Direct via phone between March 1, 2009
and March 16, 2009. 150 were selected for this survey based on having
sufficient experience with Plymouth Rock to render an evaluation. Of the
150, 57 completed the surveys. Companies were evaluated on each criterion
on a 10 point scale with 10 being excellent and 1 being poor. Plymouth Rock
sponsored the surveys.

MIAMI — The attorneys and business staff at international law firm Greenberg
Traurig, P.A., are helping to ensure that 46 families in Overtown will
be able to enjoy the wonderful American tradition of a Thanksgiving
feast this year.
Greenberg Traurig president Matthew Gorson, Miami managing shareholders
Mark Bloom and Rick Giusto and Environmental and Land Development
associate Iris Escarra presented $75 Publix gift cards and food items to
parents of the Overtown Youth Center (OYC), a program of Alonzo Mourning
Charities, on Wednesday evening. The food and gift cards were generously
donated by Greenberg Traurig attorneys and staff who contributed $3760
and/or contributed non-perishable food items during a Thanksgiving food
drive held November 2-17 in the firms Miami office.
The OYC provides educational, cultural and recreational enrichment for
students from second grade to graduation through in-school,
after-school, weekend, and summer programs that include academic
enhancement, physical fitness and nutrition, creative arts and
family-oriented activities.
We are grateful to have the support of the community, and especially
Greenberg Traurig, said OYC executive director Carla Penn. Donating
these items extends beyond providing a Thanksgiving meal for these
families. It shows the residents of Overtown that they are thought
about, that they are cared about.
We often talk about the financial crisis that our country and the world
are going through right now, said Bloom. But we dont have to look
very far to see that life is much more challenging for some than for
others, especially in the Miami community where there are stark economic
disparities. So it is a privilege and a responsibility for those of us
who have been blessed with material wealth to meet the needs of those
who have been less fortunate.

A fat-burning house favorite here at M&F; is green tea extract. After all, numerous research studies show it enhances weight loss. If you’re still skeptical, a new meta-analysis–a study that looks at all the research conducted on the topic–from the Netherlands confirms that green tea is effective for dropping bodyweight.
Although the findings showed that it didn’t lead to huge losses, green tea extract can help you get over the hump when you’re already dieting and training to drop bodyfat
